Vetro Di Murano – Pink Lady Silver Coin 2oz
This plate is a prime example of classic Murano art from 15th century. The purple glass is decorated in fusible enamels with a female figure shown in profile, enclosed by an outer band of vineshoots and birds.
The history of the plate lays in the dark. It is not clear if the plate was crafted for a special occasion like a wedding or in honour of some rich Italian family. Experts in a museum found out that the plate was crafted between 1470 and 1480.
The original plate is on display at the Museo Provinciale, Castello del Buonconsiglio.
